Tom lounged under a shady willow tree, feeling the sun's rays still hitting him, even though he was in the shade. His hair fanned out on the ground, like his own personal aura. He smiled, nothing could be better on a bright day than relaxing on the Sunny Skies grounds. Nothing, except sharing the day with the gorgeous woman back in Germany that was absolutely smitten with him. Tom grinned, thinking of her golden hair and powder blue eyes. Of course she was in love with him, what was not to love? Tom sighed, wishing he could get out of this place and back to her. Tom shifted slightly, tucking his arms up under his head to get them out of the direct sunlight. There were a few people out in the yard today, and most of them were watching him. even the orderlies couldn't keep their eyes to themselves. Life here under the SS wasn't to bad. Tom smiled, eyes still closed, and felt himself drifting into a light slumber.

Isobelle wandered into the courtyard, books under her arms, and a slight smile on her face for the bright sun. Sure, it will make the glare on the pages more damaging to her eyes, but the fresh air is just what she needed in this stuffy place. Like they had no idea what air conditioning was. Her feet led her wandering brain to a stone table and bench in pristine condition, and she sat down, laying the multiple science books across the surface. She was reading her favorite, the Spanish version of Gray's Anatomy, when she felt her eyes being diverted away to the slumbering figure across the yard from her. He was sleeping, that was obvious from the soft snoring that had distracted her, yet there was something about him... on second thought, maybe it was a her. Isobelle tried to look closer from her current spot, figure the identity from her bench. No, the long hair was a ruse. It was a male. His face was turned up to the sun, a smile still on his lips as he slept. He was very thin, even for the standard of food they gave here, and wondered if he was here for anorexia. She wondered, but wouldn't go approach. She didn't trust herself to not badger him with questions on why he might have an image problem. On second thought, maybe he did want someone to ask him questions and actually listen. Isobelle decided to go with the safest form of studying, the one most used by scientists worldwide. She watched him.

Tom's light sleep was disturbed easily, but not through physical means. He sat up, feeling that someone had their eyes on him, and not in a good way. He looked around the courtyard casually, trying to find the one person staring. And he did. A tan, dark haired girl sitting at a table, books scattered around her, some pages fluttering in the light breeze. He gave her a slight smile, lifting one of his hands and tossing her a half wave- moving his hand only to the right, and not back. She didn't respond, just her dead gaze on him. It was rather unsettling. Usually he had no problem getting a reaction back, but she was different. Under her eyes he felt like he was a frog in a freshman biology class. He shifted on the spot, tugging the end of his shirt down, even though it hadn't rode up at all. He sat with his back against the tree, not sure whether he should approach her or attempt to make himself look busy. Instead of doing either, he tucked his legs up against his chest and closed his eyes again, this time wishing that she'd either come and talk or go away.

Isobelle saw the boy sit up, glancing around the courtyard in a casual manner. However, she noticed that by the way he so quickly woke, he was being anything but casual. Their eyes locked, and she held his gaze, almost feeling his emotions of shock, curiosity, then uncomfortable. She knew she should look away, especially after he already dropped her gaze and began to back himself against the tree protectively, but she couldn't. She just wanted to watch him, see who he was and why he was here. Then again, she could always go talk to him. But Isobelle was never one to make the first approach. It went against her nature.
She finally let her eyes fall from the mysterious boy and back to her book, the stark whiteness of the pages almost blinding her. She blinked a few times to try and get her eyes to focus on the pages, but her mind kept wondering what the boy was doing next, and felt her eyes quickly follow her train of thought. She looked up to him, seeing his eyes closed once more as he tried to recreate the peaceful environment she had disturbed, and she looked back to her books. Only to have her eyes, in five minutes time, again be on the dark haired boy. Something about his posture told her he was not successful in his attempt to ignore her watchful eyes. He shifted again, and Isobelle shut her book, pushed it aside, and pulled forward another, hoping some Anne Rice could keep her mind off the obviously uncomfortable man across from her.
Unsuccessfully, she might add, if she was not busy studying him once more.

After the feeling of being watched never lifted, Tom opened his eyes to see that the girl was still staring. He shifted under the tree, wishing she'd stop staring. He saw she had opened another book, the thicker one now discarded with the others. He sighed, looking down at his shoes before standing and walking to the table. Be casual, be casual Tom repeated in his head as he got closer and closer. "Hey, reading anything good?" He asked casually, but still feeling like an art model, a feeling that no amount of clothes he could put on would change. She just kept staring with her eyes locked to his. They were beautiful, he must admit. "I'm Tom, nice to meet you," he tried again, sticking out a manicured hand. ((Sorry its so short today ))

Isobelle felt her blood run cold as the boy sat up, watching her watch him as he walked across the courtyard. Her heart beat faster, not because he was coming over- she could handle simple conversations sure- but the fact she couldn't take her eyes off him unsettled her. She glanced down at her book, trying to not seem creepy, even if she'd already passed that point long ago.
"Hey, reading anything good?" He asked, trying to sound casual and almost succeeding. She cleared her throat, flipping the book over to show the cover.
"Just some Anne Rice. I've already read it many times though," she said, looking up at the dark haired boy.
"I'm Tom, nice to meet you," he tried again, sticking out a manicured hand. She slid her own hand into it, noting how soft his skin was. Amazing feet for a man, she noted.
"Isobelle," she said simply, shaking his hand up once, back down, then dropping it. "Nice to meet you, Tom," she added, before looking at her books.

"Just some Anne Rice. I've already read it many times though," she said.
"Interesting. I liked the Lestat character," he said, hoping the knowledge of at least knowing it was the book they based Interview With a Vampire off of was enough. After sharing his name, she slipped her hand into his. It fit perfectly, and she had slightly rough fingertips, but beautiful hands nonetheless.
"Isobelle. Nice to meet you, Tom," she added, before looking at her books.
His smile faltered for a moment as she briskly turned back to the book. He stood by her, not knowing why she wasn't immediately in love with him like everyone else was. How could a book trump Tom? He chewed on his lip before smiling again.
"Nice to meet you too. Mind if I sit?" He asked, motioning to the bench on the other side of the stone table.

"Interesting. I liked the Lestat character," he said.
Isobelle tried to hide the smile on her face from his remark. Of course he knew Lestat. Everyone knew Lestat thanks to Brad Pitt. However, it was interesting that he liked Lestat. Most didn't.
"Nice to meet you too. Mind if I sit?" He asked, motioning to the bench on the other side of the stone table.
"Go ahead," she smiled, looking up. It was hard to look away. He was beautiful, especially this close. He did look very feminine though, she noted, looking at his well groomed hair and form fitting clothes. Isobelle looked back to the book, trying to keep focused. She felt that if he stayed there, she'd be tempted to ask too many questions.
Last time she asked questions, the nurses had barely saved the poor girl from impromtu surgery.
